JAXUSA Welcomes Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan, Northrop Grumman Receives Industry Leader Award
JAXUSA Partnership, a division of the JAX Chamber, welcomed Bank of America Corporation Chairman and CEO Brian T. Moynihan to the JAXUSA Partnership quarterly luncheon at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront.
Moynihan, who leads one of the world’s largest financial institutions, discussed the Northeast Florida economy and the state of the banking industry.
Northrop Grumman was honored during the luncheon as the recipient of the JAXUSA Partnership Industry Leader award for its outstanding business performance and corporate citizenship. Christine McGlade, vice president of manufacturing operations and site manager for Northrop Grumman, accepted the award on behalf of the company.
A leader and innovator in the aviation industry, Northrup Grumman has been operating in St. Augustine since 1980. The company is the largest private employer in St. Johns County and a vital contributor to the region’s economy.
Northrop Grumman is building an Aircraft Integration Center of Excellence in St. Augustine, adding 400 jobs and $80 million in capital investment to the region. The company is in the process of obtaining LEED certification for more than 326,000-square-feet of manufacturing, production and office space at its St. Johns County facility.
In Northeast Florida Northrop Grumman is a manufacturer of national defense aviation with more than 1,100 employees. The company’s St. Augustine location builds the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft as well as other aviation replacement parts. Workers also perform overhauls on F-5 fighter jets used by the U.S. Navy.
A leader in technology innovation because of its world-class workforce, Northrop Grumman is increasing its STEM outreach through site, corporate and Northrop Grumman Foundation resources. Northrop Grumman works with the White House Summer Intern Program to recruit young talent to the area. The company also focuses on enhanced local classroom outreach to develop a future workforce for the region and its philanthropic efforts include strong partnerships with education institutions to support continued learning.
