Ideal Aluminum, an aluminum fence, gates and railing products manufacturer, announced last month plans to move its corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility from Deland to St. Johns County. The company has purchased a 145,500-square-foot warehouse in St. Augustine, where it will bring 90 manufacturing and headquarters jobs and a capital investment of $6.5 million dollars.

The company considered options from Volusia to Duval counties and into Georgia. Given the need to be closer to the Interstate 95 and Interstate 10 interchange, Jacksonville was in the running as well.

"I will say this, and I don't want to step on any toes, but we got more attention from St. Johns County," Brady said. "This county was very, very aggressive and wanted our business."
