Sunshine Health, a subsidiary of Fortune 500 company St. Louis-based Centene Corp., is a Medicaid health plan that has been providing services in Florida since 2009; serving more than 220,000 members. In April 2014, Sunshine Health worked in conjunction with the City and JAXUSA to come to an incentive agreement — in return for making a capital investment of up to $900,000 to grow its local operations and adding 125 positions.

“Sunshine Health is excited about the prospect of expanding our workforce in Jacksonville,” said Chris Paterson, CEO of Sunshine Health. “We appreciate the city’s consideration of our request and look forward to the prospect of adding to our presence in Jacksonville.”

Centene, a Fortune 500 company, operates in four Florida cities, including Jacksonville, Tampa, Sunrise and Orlando.
