A Few Words With…..Jerry Mallot

A recent article about Jerry Mallot’s leadership on running JAXUSA Partnership in the Florida Times-Union demonstrates the organization’s integral role in closing deals with companies seeking to open or expand operations in Jacksonville.

In the article, Mallot notes that Jacksonville currently has a robust environment with many projects in the works and commented that it takes a team effort to win economic deals. JAXUSA works closely and has strong partnerships with the City of Jacksonville and regional partners throughout Northeast Florida.

Mallot comments that some of the challenges JAXUSA faces include how some people outside of the market do not know the area very well and the competitive nature states and communities face when trying to incent companies to relocate to their area.

Last month, Governor Rick Scott released data showing the Jacksonville MSA had added more than 19,000 jobs in the last year, indicating positive news and continual growth for the region.

JAXUSA is currently working with more than 35 active projects. Advanced manufacturing deals continue to lead the way in the number of projects, followed by IT, health & life sciences and financial services.
