Notable Economic Development Activity Occurring in JAX

Global companies are establishing operations in the area and taking advantage of Jacksonville’s talented labor, low business costs and pro-business climate.

More than 18 company announcements were made that will add more than 2,500 new jobs to the region and more than $527 million in capital investment from top companies including Macquarie, Volkswagen Group of America, Amports, and Deutsche Bank. 

High-profile retailers such as IKEA, Nordstrom, Top Golf and Bass Pro Shops have also recognized Jacksonville as a competitive location and have opened or are opening operations around the region.

Northeast Florida continues to strengthen its international presence with global companies including Resource Solutions (United Kingdom), Greencore (Ireland), 2G Cenergy (Germany), Saft (France), Aveo (Czech Republic), Adecco (Switzerland), Embraer (Brazil) and Macquarie (Australia). Since 2011, there have been 19 international project announcements, creating more than 2,100 new jobs and providing more than $66 million in capital investment.

In addition, a new talent recruitment tool, FindYourJax.com, was launched for local HR recruiters who need a centralized site for prospective employees to learn about the area.

The site helps explain Jacksonville to people thinking about moving here and features profiles of residents who found their niche here. The site has a directory with key links to information about schools, neighborhoods and other pertinent data.
