GE considered other states and countries before choosing Jacksonville. Julie DeWane, a vice president for supply chain management at GE said Jacksonville emerged as the “clear choice” for the plant. The Jacksonville facility, expected to open in November 2014,¬†will custom design and manufacture the company’s Mooney brand regulators and Becker control valves.

GE will invest at least $50 million in equipment and technology for the building and create up to 500 manufacturing, administrative, engineering and other functional roles within the next three years.
