Höegh Autoliners Reviewing Sites For New Jacksonville Headquarters

Last week, Höegh announced it is moving its U.S. headquarters to Jacksonville from Jericho, N.Y. The company’s decision to consolidate and move its headquarters to the region was to be closer to the Port of Jacksonville.

“Höegh’s decision to relocate its U.S. headquarters to Jacksonville underscores the company’s commitment to our region and the port,” said JAXPORT Interim Chief Executive Officer Roy Schleicher.  “It is the superior work being performed by our tenants, partners and employees that has solidified JAXPORT’s position as the nation’s number one port for vehicle exports.”

Representatives of the global provider of vehicle transportation services said they are looking for approximately 15,000 square feet of space near the JAXPORT facilities or on the Southside for their new operations.

“Our new U.S. headquarters in Jacksonville will enable us to be close to cargo, ships and customers, and to consolidate our activities in one office location,” said Steinar Lovdal, head of Regions America for Höegh.  “Jacksonville is one of the world’s largest automotive ports, and a natural place for us to be located. We also view Jacksonville as an attractive location from a cost perspective.”

The company will add about 15 employees to its Jacksonville office, which currently has approximately 20 employees.  The move will bring top-level and mid-level executive management positions to Jacksonville.

“We are thrilled by Höegh’s decision to expand in our region and excited to welcome additional jobs and investment to our community,” said JAX Chamber Interim President and CEO and JAXUSA Partnership President Jerry Mallot.  “We look forward to Höegh’s continued growth and success in our region.”

Höegh is moving quickly on this project and looking to complete the headquarters move by June.  The company’s international headquarters are in Norway.
