International Financial Services Company Selects Jacksonville For Expansion

Macquarie Bank LogoAustralian investment bank Macquarie Group will open an office in downtown Jacksonville, creating 123 accounting, tax and financial management jobs over the next two years and investing more than $3 million for its new finance operation.

Macquarie Group ranks as the top global infrastructure investor in the world and employs more than 14,000 people in 28 countries. The company has more than $370 billion in global assets under management with 36% of total operating income generated in the Americas.

“We are extremely pleased to have selected Jacksonville as the location for a new office for some of Macquarie’s global Finance functions,” said Michael P. McLaughlin, US Country Head for Macquarie Group. “Macquarie undertook a robust search for a new location. The city of Jacksonville, its civic leadership and the business community could not have been more welcoming. The city presents a very compelling business case, and we look forward to establishing a presence in Jacksonville to further support the growth of Macquarie’s US and European businesses.”

This expansion is another significant example of Jacksonville’s strength in the financial services industry. Australian-based Macquarie Group (#389) joins 12 other major banks and insurance services firms on Forbes’ Global 500 list that have already established significant operations in Jacksonville.
