Melanie’s previous economic and trade development experience includes an internship with the Foreign Commercial Service at the U.S. Embassy in London, England, and a position in marketing and member relations with the Florida Ports Council in Tallahassee.
A graduate of Florida State University, Melanie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in international relations and a Bachelor of Arts in French with a concentration in international marketing. Melanie was awarded a full scholarship to spend a summer studying at the Institut Catholique in Paris.
A member of the Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) since 2003, Melanie currently serves on the board as the Chair Elect. Melanie received her Certified Economic Research Professional (CERP) designation from C2ER in 2019.
Melanie also serves as a local and regional volunteer for her sorority, Phi Mu, and holds board positions on the PTA, School Advisory Council, and booster organizations at her daughters’ schools. She is a history, art, theatre, and pop-culture buff and loves to travel and play trivia games.
