MAS HVAC Inc., a manufacturer of custom, engineered option for air handling equipment, announced it will build a 32,400-square-foot office/industrial building in St. Johns County.

Burkhardt Distributing Company, a beer distribution company, plans to build an $11 million, 113,000-square-foot office/warehouse in St. Johns County to serve as its headquarters and distribution center.

Defense Contractor Expands Operations in St. Johns County

Defenshield Inc., a company constructing military-grade bulletproof shields and barriers, announced last month plans to move its headquarters from upstate New York to St. Augustine. The CEO, Collins White, decided to leave the Empire State after new laws prohibited the guns he used to test the Defenshield products. Defenshield has received $9.9 million in government contracts since 2006, and has clients across the globe and offices in New York and Washington.

Ideal Aluminum is moving its corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility to St. Johns County. The company has purchased a 145,500-square-foot warehouse in St. Augustine, where it will bring 90 manufacturing and headquarters jobs and a capital investment of $6.5 million dollars.

Northrop Grumman

Northrop Grumman announced in 2013 that it is creating five Centers of Excellence, including the establishment of an Aircraft Integration Center of Excellence in St. Augustine, to improve its strategic alignment with its customers’ need for increasingly innovative and affordable products, services and solutions.

In 2012, Advanced Disposal Services, Inc., an integrated environmental services company, worked in conjunction with JAXUSA while considering Northeast Florida in its search for a new headquarters to house its expanding company and new staff.

2G Cenergy

German-based 2G Cenergy Power Systems announced in 2012 that it is locating its first U.S. manufacturing operation in St. Augustine, creating 125 jobs with an average salary of $50,000.
