Amazon

The new operation will create more than 1,000 new jobs and $115 million in capital investment, bringing Amazon’s announced footprint in Jacksonville to more than 2,500 jobs and $315 million in local investment.

The region’s direct access to a consumer market of 60+ million people, ease of doing business and the seamless collaboration on the first project helped Amazon decide Jacksonville was the perfect location to serve as a distribution hub for the company’s diverse array of products.

This facility will be different than the one currently under construction on the Northwest side of Jacksonville. The initial operation announced over the summer will be more high-tech, using more robotics to distribute smaller products. This facility will focus more on processing and distributing larger goods including furniture and large electronics.

The first facility announced over the summer is planned to open next year with this second facility set to open later.
Our region continues to benefit from having a strong economic development partnership with city and state officials. Mayor Curry, the Jacksonville City Council, Enterprise Florida and the city’s Office of Economic Development all played major roles in landing this significant project for our community.
