JAXUSA Embarks on 12th Annual UK Economic Development Mission
JAXUSA Partnership will lead a civic and business delegation from the City of Jacksonville to the United Kingdom from October 12-20th as part of our long-standing annual UK Economic Development Mission. The purpose of the mission is to further strengthen trade relations between the United Kingdom and Jacksonville while promoting opportunities for business recruitment and expansion.
80 senior leaders from Jacksonville’s business, academic, civic and sporting communities will engage with UK government officials, business leaders, tech founders, trade bodies and media to unlock new opportunities for transatlantic growth and collaboration.
This week-long trade and investment mission is designed to deepen economic ties between Jacksonville and the UK, building on the Florida–UK MOU and shared ambitions around: (1) Fintech & Financial Innovation; (2) Defense Tech & Dual-Use R&D; (3) Cybersecurity & Artificial Intelligence; (4) Clean Growth & Infrastructure; (5) Trade, Policy & Investment Relations; (6) Maritime; and (7) Life Sciences.
JAXUSA’s goal is to demonstrate how Jacksonville can serve as a strategic base for UK businesses entering the U.S. market. By facilitating investment discussions, fostering collaboration and showcasing the resources available to support international companies, this mission will lay the foundation for future growth and stronger transatlantic ties.
British firms are already thriving in Jacksonville. BAE Systems is a major employer in our maritime and defense sectors, while Paysafe continues to expand its operations in fintech and digital payments. Balfour Beatty has built and managed a wide range of projects here, including the Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center, the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) Autonomous Innovation Center and expansions at the Jacksonville International Airport (JIA). These companies are generating thousands of high-value jobs, supporting both UK exports and U.S. community development.
