JAXUSA’s 11th Annual London Economic Development Mission Highlights Financial Services in Northeast Florida
A delegation of business leaders, city officials and staff from JAXUSA Partnership and the JAX Chamber have returned to London this week for the 11th annual economic development mission.
This year’s mission will focus on Northeast Florida as a hub for financial services, placing a spotlight on the region’s fastest-growing segment in the industry: fintech.
To kick off the 2024 mission, JAXUSA unveiled a new video promoting the financial services industry in Jacksonville titled “JAX Marks the Spot for Financial Services.” The video features leading financial companies that have found success in the region such as FIS, Dun & Bradstreet and Deutsche Bank. Through exploring Jacksonville as a vibrant hub for financial services and the fintech subsector, JAXUSA showcases the city’s growing appeal due to its favorable business climate, skilled workforce, outstanding quality of life and more.
“The annual economic development mission is critical to continue to build meaningful relationships with businesses in London, particularly fintech companies, and tell the story of how Jacksonville can support their expansion plans,” said JAXUSA President Aundra Wallace.
Throughout the years, JAXUSA’s strong partnership with London has helped bring in numerous high wage jobs as well as the creation of U.S. headquarters. Paysafe and SmartStream Technologies have both expanded their operations to the area in recent years as a result of this partnership, compounding the region’s strength in finance and technology.
As a follow-up to last year’s mission, JAXUSA hosted Kemi Badenoch, former UK secretary of state for business and trade, in November as well as a delegation with the Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI) who had identified Florida as a potential destination to expand their business in December.
The Jacksonville region will continue to embrace innovation, collaboration and growth as it continues its partnership with London as well as the broader global community.
