Live, Work, Play and Stay in Downtown Jacksonville
Shad Khan has proposed a massive, visionary development on the 48-acre Shipyards property, one of the premier spots in the city along the St. Johns River. It would connect the Downtown area to EverBank Field and help bring economic vitality into the city.
The proposed development includes a marina; hotel; restaurants; an expanded river walk from downtown to the stadium including a suspension bridge; park space; and a permanent museum for the USS Charles F. Adams (DDG-2).
Described as modern and urban, the proposed plans show a walkable destination that connects the Sports Complex with the downtown area along Bay Street. Upon completion it would provide downtown Jacksonville the kind of iconic identity that many other U.S. cities have and enjoy.
The mixed-use development would help attract both workers and companies to the area, and furter assist our mission for economic growth, job recruitment and capital investment.
