New Education Initiative To Assist Veterans

A new collaboration among the area’s colleges, including Jacksonville University, the University of North Florida, Florida State College of Jacksonville and Edward Waters College, is designed to help Northeast Florida’s nearly 30,000 military servicemen and women through college and transition into civilian jobs.

The Northeast Florida Military Veterans College Network initiative is part of Earn Up, a higher education collaborative working to ensure that all Northeast Florida citizens have the opportunity to obtain a certificate or degree. Earn Up specifically focuses on high school students, adult learners and veterans.

This is a first-of-its kind network in the country that aligns regional military stakeholders to work together on behalf of the area’s veterans. In partnership with the City of Jacksonville and JAXUSA Partnership, this initiative focuses on providing better avenues for service members to connect with appropriate education benefits.
