Macquarie Selects Jacksonville for its Global Banking Office

Macquarie underwent a competitive site location search in 2015 for a new global banking shared-services office as a result of the company’s continued growth and demand for services worldwide. Macquarie’s competitive worldwide site location search included 17 cities in 5 countries. After careful consideration, Jacksonville was selected as the location for Macquarie’s new global banking office.

Macquarie selected Jacksonville for its nearshore finance operations for numerous competitive reasons including the strong collaboration of city and business leadership, tax incentives, low real estate costs and central available business location in downtown Jacksonville along the St. Johns River.

Macquarie has continually added new roles and expanded its operations as employees from across the United States are choosing to move to Jacksonville because of the quality of life and the opportunities Macquarie makes available, We continue to see a lot of interest in Jacksonville from the C-suite and throughout the organization and our footprint here continues to expand, said Glenn.

Macquarie’s success and growth in Jacksonville can also be attributed to the bank’s ability to hire skilled financial talent from the local market. More than 80% of the staff has been hired from the Jacksonville region. Macquarie works closely with both the University of North Florida (UNF) and Jacksonville University (JU) to supply their talent pool. Students regularly begin as interns for Macquarie and find employment with the company following graduation. Macquarie also works with the universities on curriculum development by contributing ideas and real-world information to best prepare and educate students.

Macquarie continues to widen its talent pool with employees from other office locations that wish to be relocated to Jacksonville due to the city’s growing positive business reputation and high quality of life. Macquarie is committed to Jacksonville and anticipates continued growth in its office as more professional job functions are added to support Macquarie’s investment bank and infrastructure groups and the growing business operations in Jacksonville.
